Easy Application Designer Online tool for designing complete control blocks

Do you want to quickly check the feasibility of your project? Our program for drawing and designing hydraulic circuit diagrams is at your side 24/7 – taking the strain off your design department and speeding up the development process. This way, you can deliver a satisfactory result to your customers more quickly. Hydraulic circuit diagrams and parts lists are easily created using the software, and the EAD tool also provides comprehensive documentation (including dimensional drawings, 3D models, drilling tables and production drawings). Once this is complete, the EAD tool designs a 3D model of your control block.

Project planning made easyFrom hydraulic circuit diagram creation to an automated block design process

From the hydraulic circuit diagram to the finished 3D drawing – our EAD tool saves you valuable time and labour costs in the design process. You can configure hydraulic circuit diagrams, parts lists and production drawings based on HYDAC products in just a few minutes. On request, we can also take care of the assembly and the delivery of the final design.

How does it work?

  • Start by creating a hydraulic circuit diagram:
You can very easily create your hydraulic circuit diagram online using drag & drop and receive your step files free of charge.
  • Choose the right components:
You can find the latest HYDAC cartridge valves, including the suitable installation spaces, in the selector. The system also has accumulators, pressure sensors and many other components stored in the system. The result is a parts list.
  • Finalise your project with an automated block design process:
Autorouting is used to generate a block which can easily be displayed as a 3D rendering. On request, we can take care of both the production and delivery – an immediate quote is possible.

The basics: what is the EAD tool and how do I get access?

What are the benefits of the EAD tool?

In the first step, you can create your hydraulic circuit diagram online free of charge. But the main benefit of the tool lies in the fast and automated block design process, made possible by integrated autorouting which connects the valve connections and other components.

What does the EAD tool do?

The EAD tool offers an automated block design process based on the user's hydraulic circuit diagram. You can use up to twelve HYDAC valves and other components (accumulators, sensors, etc.).

Workflow:

  1. Hydraulic circuit diagram creation
  2. Autorouting
  3. Control block generation
  4. Drawing + step model generation

Can I get an explanation of how it works?

In our program for drawing hydraulic circuit diagrams and further design processes, numerous explanatory videos are available on various topics, allowing you to quickly internalise the way it works.

How many projects can I create?

The number of projects is unlimited for the time being.

How do I get an EAD account?

Visit ead.hydac.com via an up-to-date browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox).
Click "Sign up now", fill in the registration form and confirm by clicking "Submit". As soon as your local HYDAC sales organisation has completed the registration, you will receive a confirmation email.

Is there a charge for using the tool?

No, the EAD tool is available to you free of charge.

Which target group is the EAD tool aimed at?

Our program for drawing hydraulic circuit diagrams and designing control blocks has been extensively tested and optimised by HYDAC – we also use it for quick quote submissions. Due to the numerous advantages, we now want to make this tool available to our customers.

Is the EAD tool only available in English?

Our tool is only available in English – no other languages are planned at this moment in time.

Who can use the EAD tool?

The tool is primarily geared towards companies and their challenges. Universities, technical schools and other educational institutions can also benefit from using the tool, however.
Our online tool is available in all countries – if this is not the case for your country, please contact HYDAC.

Do I need to be an expert to use the EAD tool?

The EAD tool is designed to be a simple design tool and hydraulic circuit diagram tool. Simple hydraulic circuits form the basis of the tool – for these, a basic knowledge of hydraulics is sufficient. But it is also possible to design complex circuits. Our tool offers a wide range of options for experts with different skillsets, allowing them to create hydraulic circuit diagrams online and design control blocks.

Data protection: is my data secure?

Do I need to install anything?

No, the EAD tool is a cloud solution that is operated entirely in the web browser. To work with the tool, all you need is an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

How secure is my data?

The data protection is subject to the European Data Protection Directive. User behaviour is analysed to constantly optimise the user experience and further develop features. Personal data will not be passed on to third parties.

How long do I have access to my projects and my account?

When projects have been created, they are visible in the EAD for up to one year. These are then archived. You can download your projects before this happens and save them locally. If the account is not used within three months of registration, we reserve the right to deactivate it.

Components: which components are stored in the tool?

How many valves can I use?

It is currently possible to use up to 12 valves, which you can also connect to other components (accumulators, sensors, etc.). You can choose from over 3,000 items.

Are Cetop valves also stored in the system?

Yes, up to two Cetop valves can be used. You can combine these with cartridge valves.

Are all HYDAC valves stored in the system?

The HYDAC valve range is constantly being expanded. This means that you will always find an up-to-date selection of over 3,000 HYDAC valves in the EAD.

What additional components, apart from the valves, are stored in the system?

A selection of accumulators, pressure sensors, hand pumps and measuring connections round off the product range for the block design process. If a component is missing, please contact valves@hydac.com.

Functions: what functions does the EAD tool have?

Can I change and adjust the control block as often as I like?

The underlying hydraulic circuit diagram can be changed and recalculated as often as required by revising it.

Can I change the design at a later date?

After optimised autorouting and the generation of the control block, you can request more in-depth optimisations and adaptations via the HYDAC engineering department at your local HYDAC sales organisation.

What production data (drawings, parts lists, etc.) is generated?

A freely usable step file including all add-on parts and dimensions is generated.
In addition, a dimensional drawing with all side views, a hydraulic circuit diagram including a parts list and further technical information, such as port assignment and weight, are available for download in various formats. You can also download the corresponding brochures for all components.

Can I create a complete hydraulic circuit diagram, including the pump, tank and additional components, for a functional diagram?

Yes, it is always possible to create a hydraulic circuit diagram. A control block design is automatically generated in the next step.

What materials are available for the control block? Are these protected against corrosion?

Steel and aluminium are available as standard materials for your block design – choose additional corrosion protection if required.

How can I determine the positions of valves and connections (ports)?

You can specify the valve positions for each side of the control block as required. The valve positions can then be seen in the dimensional drawing or the step model.

Can I save my hydraulic circuit diagram?

The hydraulic circuit diagram is automatically saved in the project. It is also available as a pdf or dwg file.

What is the minimum wall thickness for the design?

A wall thickness of 4 mm is adhered to on all sides.

Is there a plausibility check?

A plausibility check for is carried out for hydraulic circuit diagram errors, e.g. an unassigned connection. The correct valve selection, such as the required flow rate or pressure, is up to you as the user.

Are the autorouting results optimised?

Yes, the autorouter optimises the control block in terms of compactness.

The next steps: what happens once the control block has been created?

Do I see a calculation or a price at the end?

As soon as all the design elements have been defined in the design project, you can request a calculation from your local HYDAC sales organisation. Thanks to your predefined circuit and components, you will receive a quote in a short timeframe. If necessary, additional technical advice and optimisation will be provided.

How quickly is the control block generated?

Depending on the number of components used, the complexity of the hydraulic circuit diagram and how high the EAD tool usage is, generation can take from 5 minutes to several hours.

How do I receive my control block as a prototype for functional testing?

After generating the control block, you can request your prototype from your local HYDAC sales organisation.

How quickly will I receive my control block as a prototype for functional testing?

Depending on the utilisation of production capacities at your local HYDAC sales organisation, a control block may be available as early as three weeks later.

Who manufactures the control block?

Please contact your HYDAC sales organisation, who will be happy to provide you with a quote. If required, you can order it fully assembled and tested.
