Continuous development and clear climate targets: our contribution to climate protection
From a two-person operation to an international company – and from a component manufacturer to leading provider of integrated system solutions: our aim is to constantly develop ourselves further. One element of this is our Move Positive sustainability strategy, which focuses on conserving natural resources and making a positive contribution to society. As part of this, we have defined four fields of action that are key to our strategic focus: positive innovation, the HYDAC family, supply chains and environmental/climate protection.
At HYDAC, sustainability isn't just a strategic goal. It's established practice. With our Move Positive sustainability strategy, we're taking a holistic approach to reducing emissions along the entire value chain – from the development of innovative products and resource-efficient production processes to the switch to renewable energies. This is why we invest over 5 % of our sales revenue in research & development every year, enabling us to further develop and expand our range of products and applications. Resource efficiencyBy avoiding deposits in turbine oil
An urgent problem: resinous deposits had formed on a turbine locking bolt at a hydropower plant. Our analysis of the oil samples showed that it was varnish - a phenomenon that leads to serious turbine failures. Our sustainable solution involved installing our innovative Varnish Elimination Unit VEU-F. This enabled a service life extension of up to six years as well as an annual oil saving of no less than 1,575 litres.
Reducing energy consumptionThrough more efficient machine tool cooling
An automotive plant operator was looking for ways to optimise the energy efficiency of their machine tool cooling system and use the cooling water circuit more efficiently. The answer lay in connecting the machine tools to the hall cooling system. Following a successful pilot project, a total of 226 machines were converted to our HYDAC FWKS fluid-water cooling system. This measure led to an annual reduction in energy consumption of 1,830,000 kilowatt hours and a cost saving of 245,220 euros. In addition to halving service costs, energy costs were reduced by up to 40 %.
