Using HYDAC charging and testing equipment such as the FPU series, technicians can precisely monitor the nitrogen pre-charge pressure (also known as the nitrogen pre-fill). This is essential, because every accumulator – regardless of its design – will only perform optimally at the correct pre-charge pressure. Regular testing prevents damage to the separating element, such as the accumulator bladder or diaphragm, and protects piston accumulators from the piston forcefully striking the oil-side or gas-side piston accumulator end cap. While the FPU series provides the ideal tools for regularly inspecting individual accumulators, our high-performance nitrogen charging stations (N2 servers) minimise downtimes when dealing with large volumes. They are specifically designed for charging entire accumulator stations and accumulators with downstream nitrogen cylinders, where large volumes of gas need to be transferred swiftly and safely.
